ROAD SIGNS, LINES AND TRAFFIC CONTROLS

The very first traffic signs were simple stone columns. The Romans used them to let travelers know how close they were to the city. Traffic signs as we know them began to appear with the invention of the bicycle, as cyclists needed signs that warned them about obstacles. These signs continued to evolve as cars hit the roads. Today, most of us don’t think that much about traffic signs.
Traffic signs provide valuable information to drivers and other road users. They represent rules that are in place to keep you safe, and help to communicate messages to drivers and pedestrians that can maintain order and reduce accidents. Neglecting them can be dangerous. Most signs make use of pictures, rather than words, so that they are easy to understand and can be interpreted by people who speak a variety of languages.
SAFETY DEVICES

A well rounded driver safety program involves more than handing your employees the keys to your vehicles and telling them to “Be safe out there!” A good driver safety program regardless of the number of vehicles, vehicle size or type should include a driver training component tailored to the needs and exposures of your organization.
A discussion about seat-belts, child seats, airbags and other safety features which, when used consistently save lives. Many vehicles on the road today have driver assistance technologies, which help to save lives and prevent injuries on our nation’s roads. While some driver assistance technologies are designed to warn you if you’re at risk of an impending crash, others are designed to take action to avoid a crash.
FREEWAY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING

Over our years of experience and through gaining feedback from instructors, we have found that learner drivers are not being taught how to drive on highways. We want to correct this, as we don’t want to see any learner driver or experienced driver get into an accident because they were not aware of the rules.
This course will purely focus on highway driving. Similar to our Professional Driving Course, drivers can expect to learn a number of techniques that they can apply to their everyday driving. It is inevitable that a driver will use a highway to reach a destination at some point in their driving career, so why not be prepared?
AIR BRAKE COURSE
Most large commercial vehicles are equipped with air brakes. The air brake course includes theory and practical training. Students will learn about the basics of the air brake system, stopping large vehicles, air brake pre-trip inspection, air brake adjustments and much more.
